In Loving memory Of / Samuel Rowbottom / the adopted son of / Sampson and Mary Hardy / who met with his death / at Wharncliffe Silkstone / Colliery May 13th 1888 / aged 14 years / also Charles William Rowbotham / nephew of the above / who was killed in action in Gallipoli / Nr. the Dardanelles June 6th 1915 / aged 23 years / He sleeps not in his native land / but neath some foreign skies / And far from those that loved him best / But in a hero's grave he lies. / also Ernest (brother of Samuel) / and dearly beloved husband of / Florence Rowbotham / who died May 18th 1936 / aged 64 years / Rest in peace.

Smeaton / and daughter of Tom & Hannah Shaw / who died Oct. 31st 1919 aged 32 years / also Private Willie Shaw / the beloved son of Tom & Hannah Shaw / killed in action in France Sept. 25th 1917 / aged 23 years / Beautiful memories left behind.

Willie Shaw is buried in the cemetery of Voormezeele Enclosures # 1 and 2 and is commemorated on the  Commonwealth War Graves Commission website

Verner is buried in the Caudry Old Communal Cemetery in France and commemorated on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website.

Bernard Wilkinson / killed in action June 6th 1917 / aged 26 years / also their two children Lillian and / Gilbert who died in infancy / also Martha / wife of the above / who died June 15th 1941 / aged 80 years. 

Bernard Wilkinson is commemorated on the Hoyland Kirk Balk and West St War Memorial Hoyland and on the  Hoyland Nether St Peters Memorial Panels

He was a Wesleyan Minister and was mentioned in Despatches.
