In loving memory of Joseph / the dearly loved husband of MARY ANN NEEDHAM / of Darfield / who died April 30th 1923 / aged 51 years / "GRANT HIM O LORD ETERNAL REST" / also PTE Ernest Needham / 13th Y.L. Regt / the beloved son of the above named / who was killed in action on the SOMME / July 2nd 1916 / aged 20 years / "MAY HIS REWARD BE AS GREAT AS HIS SACRIFICE" / also Mary Ann Needham / who died March 3rd 1951 aged 77 years / "RE-UNITED"


Ernest Needham is remembered on the Memorial Plaque in All Saints Church Darfield, he is also remembered on the Middlewood Shrine, Darfield and on the Darfield Cenotaph  Welfare Park Darfield

Ernest Needham is remembered on the Theipval Memorial in France and rememembered on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website.

He is buried in the Gommecourt British Cemetery #2 Hebuterne in France and is commemorated Commonwealth War Graves Commission website.

Arthur Heathcote is remembered on the Barnsley Holgate Grammar School Old Boys WW1 Memorial he is also remembered on the Parishioners WW1 Memorial Plaque in Christ Church Ardsley

Arthur Heathcote is remembered on the Tyne Cot Memorial in Belgium and commemorated on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission  website.

Willie and Horace are also remembered on the Combined Memorial at St Thomas & St James, Worsbrough Dale.
